Sony VAIO P $106 WiMAX option hits Japan July 30th

It looks like bandwidth-loving Japanese buyers will be able to pick up Sony's VAIO P WiMAX edition from the end of July, according to an advert over at the company's customization site.  First announced back in June, the WiMAX VAIO P will be available for pre-order from July 27th, with availability expected just three days later.

The WiMAX option won't break the bank, either; well, in comparison to the original sticker price of the VAIO P itself.  Adding the high-speed wireless internet access will be 10,000 yen ($106), though obviously there'll be service charges on top of that if you actually want to use it.

Sony will only be making the WiMAX option available on corporate VAIO P models, or those customized using the "Owner Made" site and running Windows Vista.  There will also be a WiMAX version of the VAIO Z-series, available at roughly the same time.
