Can anyone tell me if there is a laptop/tablet hybrid that has the same specs as this? I must admit that I'm pretty hooked on the Intel’s Core i7-3517U with 4Gb or 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of SSD storage. Not to mention that it has 2 USB ports. It looks like something that can combine both work AND play effectively for me. But! It is expensive, and I've been reading some bad reviews...

Interestingly, Toshiba's take on this form factor actually makes the mechanicals look kinda cool, whereas Sony seem to be trying to hide it away (and they do a good job). I think it looks really good from what I can see here.

I think this design makes a lot of sense. A minimized, slide-out keyboard seems to be a good way to keep a keyboard close by and at the ready. Keeping a dockable keyboard around in a bag or on a table, and having to grab it and dock
it just to tap out stuff isn't always the most convenient thing either
(that's just my guess - does anyone have experience with these?). The tradeoff of
the keyboard is really the extra bulk and weight. Then you get into
Surface territory, if the goal is to minimize the keyboard, but that is
also a "wait and see" product. It's hard to gauge how well a device
"works" with your everyday use until you have had a chance to toy around
with it in a store - especially tablets that have screens larger than
11.6 inches. BTW, I just saw the Samsung prototype slider and they also did away with the touchpad... really slick design too!

Not a Windows fan, but I have to admit this thing looks quite nice. I like that the keyboard is trackpoint only and doesn't have those putrid touchpads. Also like the supposed connectivity options. Al like the display resolution. Not sure how well it'll do against ARM tablets in battery life tests, but I suppose the horsepower from the i7 will be what some users look (and are willing to pay) for, especially if they see this as a replacement for both their laptops and tablets. Personally, I'm not convinced it'll work as well in execution, but it's a nice option for the consumer to have.
