Say what you like about Sony, but some of their design really is the dog’s proverbials.  Take, for instance, the L-series of desktop media PCs; it’s a range that has been available for some time now, but it still looks relatively fresh and interesting.  Of course, while aesthetics might mature gracefully, innards are less forgiving and the time has come for Sony to refresh what comes inside the range of pastel-coloured computers.

Inside the slender case they’ve packed an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 750GB hard drive, Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics card, MotionEye webcam, WiFi, a digital TV Tuner and Blu-ray drive, all surmounted by a gorgeous 19-inch TFT flat-panel.  Running Vista - and taking advantage of its built-in media centre capabilities - they also bundle Office 2007 for your $1,300 just in case you want to use that hinge-down keyboard for some menial typing.
