I don’t see what everyone is upset about. I plan to buy the UMD games I want to keep in digital format, then sell all my UMD’s.

I am also selling my psp-3000 on eBay. So I hope to break even. Why would I want to keep a UMD copy that will not work on my new system? Also, why keep a PSP when I have a Vita?

I wonder why they (Sony) did not present it that way.

Hell yea!!!! why pay for a game you already paid for?! that’s just demanding more money n it’s gonna make Sony look greedy. If you really think about it, da games coming out for the ps vita, is most likely gonna cost slightly if not $10 more than da UMD’s because it’s the next gem portable system coming out and instead of repaying for games you already, why not save it to purchase da games and amount if content takes gonna later come down da line when ps vita is released.

Its a step in the right direction but I think its bullshit to repay for a game you already own. Valve made a nice option if you bought the ps3 version of portal 2 it came with a dl code for the pc version. That’s the way it needs to be done, you own it there for you don’t have to rebuy it. I understand its on a new platform but your using the copy you already purchased to buy it again. if it was a remastered version i could see the use in repurchasing it but not a straight port.

That’s jacked up that you have to “re-buy” your games. There has got to be another way to verify ownership so that people don’t have to buy their games over again. Of course, this IS a corporation we are dealing with.

I’m not feeling the Vita. Very, VERY happy with my PSP and my collection of Macross games–ON UMDs. It’s nice to actually HAVE the physical media and jewel cases. I wonder how well the Vita will do … doesn’t seem like it will do very well.
