Guess which console has a new flavor coming out soon? No, I’m not talking about the Nintendo DS (though the Cobalt Blue one is due out in a few days). Sony has announced that they will be offering the PS3 in a new satin silver color, but only in Japan.

Silver Satin PS3

The latest color to be introduces will actually take something of a step back (or at least to the side) for the PS3. Rather than including a 60 or 80GB drive, they’ve elected to ship them with only 40GB of storage. Also, while they plan on releasing a Dualshock 3 in satin silver, it won’t be included with the new bundle. You’ll still be stuck with the rumble-free SIXAXIS.

If memory serves me, this is the same color that Sony showed off at the 2006 E3. It’s interesting that they elected to hold of on producing the console in that particular color until now. Look for it on Japanese shelves March 6 for around $362.
