Sony has unveiled their latest Walkman to be released in the Japanese market. Though the thought of a Walkman conjures up images of a bulky cassette tape player, or even CD player, this little guy looks nothing like those. It is of course the latest in their Walkman line of phones.

Walkman NW A808

The Walkman NW-A808 will have both video and audio playback, so you’ll be able to watch plenty of video clips or listen to your favorite MP3s. I’m not sure how you will dial the phone, as the only controls on the front of the device are for controlling the media player, directional keys, power button, home and back. Perhaps this means that the 2-inch screen will be a touchscreen.

The Walkman will retail for 32,800 JPY, or around $270. It will be available in either white or pink when it goes on sale July 10th.

What makes you think this is a phone? It’s a media player, plain and simple.
