I’m 100%, the comment reflects the fact that Sony ended up doing the PSP Remastered Program when Kojima spent probably that same amount of time coming up with the PSP–>PS3 Peace Walker.

I wonder if this memory reduction is what caused Kojima to tweet his “meaningless” comment. Though its probably stretching it, its typical for Kojima to make full utilization of a console… and to hear about this reduction in memory could have foiled some of his plans for this ‘Peacewalker on NGP/Vita’ project…Just my guess. But I really hope not, Sony can’t afford to lose any allies.

I also think its stupid for no built in memory, Sony I love you guys. Ps1 was like my first console brand even before nintendo. I can remember me and my uncle in the basement playing madden. I loved the console to because sony always seemed like a brand that kept innovating. This isn’t like you. If you take any features it shouldn’t be this. Built in memory is a must if this has mostly downloadable games and 3g. At least the 3g model could come with about 8-16gb pre-installed. Or 8gb for wifi and 16gb for 3g. That sounds good.

that means the NGP cycles would be similar to iphone. New major advancements with each one versus the psp 1000-3000 series where there was small changes slimmer, better screen. But if NGP is meant to be cheaper that means cheaper development so no hardware that will last for years like ps3. That is nerve racking. I would hope for some advanced specs that aren’t even of this dimension(lol). If it had majorly designed features than I would buy it even if it was $500 for a 3g model. When I think about it, it doesn’t sound to bad. But its whatever

@Peter I couldn’t agree more. Not to mention sony’s lack luster track record to digital sales, crappy drm restrictions, and no doubt retarded first launch games titles. No one on earth will willingly lock them selves into Sony’s walled garden since they will no doubt have the tinge of being hacked recently.

When talk of the ngp’s unoffical price came out months ago, I was shocked at it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was still too much.

The fact of the matter is this isn’t 1995 any more. No one cares about a one use machine. In this day and age the consumer expects that one device to be Internet aware.

I think it is a very stupid decision, now there is not that much reason to get this device anymore. Smartphones will catch up way to fast in graphics. Look for example at Kal-El, by the end of the year phones with Kal-El will be available and already have the same or better graphics performance as a Cortex A9 with PowerVR. And since games are mostly cheaper on phones/tablets, very good multi-touch performance, they are way to attractive.

Only two reasons left are dedicated gaming controls and 5 inch screen. But with tablets coming up and better phones they will have to offer damn good games for a very good price to win people over!
