So the 2.40 update was supposed to be the one that all of the PS3 owners were waiting for. However, those that did manage to get it probably wished they waited a bit longer. It seems that Sony has (hopefully) fixed the issues that were bricking consoles, as they’ve released yet another new update.

XMB

The new 2.41 firmware is essentially just a tweaked version of the previous update from last week. The main changes are that it shouldn’t kill your console of choice.

I think that I would be a little hesitant to even download this one until it’s been out for a day or so. It should go smoothly, but I sure wouldn’t want to risk losing any data over an update.

Whatever you do….do not download 2.41. My system is still dead in the water, freezes and won’t play games it used to. Turned my ps3 into a hunk of garbage. I really hope sony gets their act together and fixes this!!
