Sony promises VR will be showcased at PlayStation Experience

In case you missed it, Sony has a big community event planned for its gamers this coming December. The company has been teasing this event in bits and pieces, dangling precious few details amidst big promises that things will be spectacular. We recently found out about ticket availability and pricing, and now that sales have started, Sony has again taken to its blog with some promises. Among the tech and events attendees can expect to see at the PlayStation Experience, as it's called, is the company's virtual reality technology.

Sony had previous said that attendees could expect everything from hands-on gaming to panels with industry stars. Yesterday it went into details about that, saying that it will have content from Capcom, Activision, Ubisoft, EA, Square Enix, Naughty Dog, Bandai Namco, and more.

In excess of 80 indie games will be showcased during the two days, with Sony saying each one will be squared away with its own booth. Most of the planned indie developers have been revealed, but the company is teasing that some will remain a secret until December. Pre-release titles will be available to play, as well, including Mortal Kombat X, The Order: 1866, Until Dawn, Battlefield: Hardline, and more.

Sony is still withholding a lot of information about what can be expected, but did reveal that attendees will be getting some hands-on time with the company's Project Morpheus VR tech — something we went hands-on with back in March, giving you an idea of what you're in for.
