Sony PlayStation 3 to cost $499 and above

PlayStation 3 (PS3) will be available in Japan on 11 November followed by an European and American launch in less than a week later. Sony has taken a leaf out of Microsoft’s book by offering 2 versions - a low-end $499 version and the more expensive $599 version. The $499 version comes with a 20GB hard drive with no HDMI support, making it useless to watch HDCP-protected films. The astronomically expensive $599 version comes with a 60GB hard drive.
