it would be best if sony just sold one version and it had 3g capabilities and it was upto the customer if they wanted to buy a data plan. All my hope are that Sony doesnt strike deals with major cell service providers and put the devices directly into the consumers hands.

i would like to see 4G on the device only if it can provide real time online gameplay..such as playing a game of free for all on the device live with other players like the consoles that would be the sickest thing ever ha :)

is there some sort of confusion amongst people? this is their gaming device, not the phone/ game hybrid people are talking bout. thats a whole seperate entity. i highly doubt this device will have 3g with a contract. smart phones have those, not gaming devices. if it utilizes 3g i can almost bet my soul that it will be covered as a one time cost covered when u buy the machine. meaning yea, u’ll pry pay more up front for 3g models, but once u bought it there are no more costs

wouldn’t mean shit anyway. 4g doesn’t have any latency advantage over 3g. 4g has more available bandwidth. however, the only time you are actually going to use that much bandwidth is downloading games. and why on earth would you want to do that and eat up your bandwidth quota. I say stick to the 3g.
not that it matters. I would get the wifi version because it is cheaper and celluar radios always have suck latency (physics is a bitch)

really? are you serious? as in sure of it? lol ……why not do a lil bit of research first before hand.

3g and 4g are internet connection speeds, wirelessly. 3g is like the cheapest plan you can get from your internet provider, slow. while 4g is about four times faster than 3g.

if sony’s new baby can do online multiplayer, i dare say 4g will come in handy if your constantly on the go and away from your precious home wifi, and want to do online gaming. wouldnt want a laggy, choppy connection now, and all that gameplay interruptions, would you?
