Sony NEX-FS700 camcorder gets official

If you're a professional videographer, you might want to check out the newly announced Sony FS700 camcorder. The camera has a 4K Super35mm CMOS sensor and 3G-SDI out. The camera also has super slow-motion capability and an interchangeable E-mount lens system. That interchangeable lens system allows the user to choose the lenses based on the situation.

The camera has integrated ND filters including clear, 1/4, 1/16, and 1/64. The super slow-motion capability allows the camera to record at 120-240 frames per second in full HD resolution. If even slower recording is desired the camera will do 480-960 frames per second at reduced resolution. Video is recorded to MemoryStick or SDXC cards.

The camera will also connect to an external HXR-FMU128 recorder. An adapter is available that will allow A-mount lenses to be used on the camera. In addition to the 3G-SDI interface, HDMI is also included. The camera also allows up to 99 camera profile settings to be stored on the memory card. The camera is expected to launch in June at an unannounced price. It won't be cheap though, the camera is high-end.
