Sony hints at iPad competitor

The Apple iPad may have disappointed some that expected the device to do and offer more. Most gadget fans can find something that they like about the iPad. The device will be shipping soon and we will see how well the buying public responds to the price and features of the iPad.

Sony has dropped a hint that it might be considering the introduction of a competitor to the iPad. Sony's CFO said at a Tokyo conference that the electronics giant was interested in this market as well. With Apple being first to market with the iPad I am betting that many other firms are waiting to see if the public likes the iPad before offering similar devices.

If Sony does offer an iPad competitor, it will undoubtedly be able to connect to the online services that Sony offers for music, movies, games, and electronic books. It would also be interesting to see the tablet interconnect with Sony's line of home theater gear and TVs as well.
