i have a 55 inch bra-via it had a recall for 18 month mine went bad 20 month after a purchased it Sony never contacted me and now they say it my problem they said i can buy a new TV with $ 300 off repair cost are $ 2200.00 set cost $2900.00 Sony is not honoring it quality get rid of your sony

I just called the Sony store in the Eaton Centre in Toronto and they said my KDL 40V 4100 is OK.
But call Sony Canada to confirm with Sony Canada 1 877 899-7669.

I have a 40 inch Bravia, but my number is KDL40V5100. Is this one of the recalled models? If so, where do I go to get it repaired?

I will never buy another Sony TV again. After 16 months, horizontal lines appear for the first 15 minutes of use and it’s getting worse. It seems to be a common problem among Sony TVs. Shouldn’t Sony take responsibility for their poor engineering design?

My TV is Model KDL-52XBR9, was manufactured in October 2009, and was purchased April 2010. Symptoms began in August 2011. All Sony can do for me is give the phone number of a repair shop.

If this concerns the Japanese market why do they scare the North American owners with this?
Might the problem be because (Different internal components) they don’t use 110 volts like in America?
