Sony extend Official Licensing Program to lifestyle products

, Jul 27th 2010 Discuss [0]

Ever wanted a pair of PlayStation branded thermal underpants, or perhaps some PSP-themed slippers?  Sony Japan has announced that it’s extending the Official Licensing Program to include “lifestyle products for clothing and household goods”.

Companies suitably vetted by Sony – and who have paid the licensing fee, naturally – will be able to use not only the gaming company’s logos but the four distinctive PlayStation characters.  There’s also the “Official Licensed Product” badge so you can be sure the manufacturer has paid its tithe.  To be honest, we’d imagine most gamers would prefer Sony spend more time on developing hardware and software and less judging t-shirts for their brand merit.
