Sony Ericsson's Vscreen app beams mobile content onto bigger screens

Sony Ericsson has released a beta app for Android devices called Vscreen that lets you easily share the media on your mobile device with a bigger screen. But instead of connecting to a larger display using an HDMI cable or DLNA protocol, the Vscreen simply uses QR codes.

Once you download the Vscreen app, you point the browser on your larger screen to the vscreens.com page and scan the on-screen QR code with your smaller Android device from which you would like to share content. This then forms a link between your device and the browser on the larger screen allowing you to easily toss up photos and videos.

However, the Vscreen app will only be able to sync your device with a larger screen that's sharing the same local WiFi network. The app is free and available now at the Android Market and requires Android 2.1 and above.
