I’m typing on xperia play and its the best phone for me, just the 4inch is a plus compare to tiny iphone and 3.5 screen 3ds, screen is rich and clear, controllers are perfect, those who complain are probably hardcore ps5 xbox 1000 players never satisfy with todays great technology. My main purpose is for phone use, and the rest is good pleasure when I remember im carying a handheld. Peace out.

This phone has just been reduced in UK store Phones 4 U. It was £479.99 on pay as you go. Now its £129.99. For that money I think its worth it.

Windows Phone 7 does not have a better app selection than Android and the Apple App Store is similar but contains much more rubbish and charges for apps like Angry Birds. “awesome FPSs” is defined as 60FPS which is the standard for most smartphones today. If you want a comparison between iOS and Windows Phone 7 and Android, search it up on google – you can hardly expect every Android handset review to contain a whole section of OS comparisons. And the physical gamepad makes a hell of a lot of a difference. You obviously know nothing about the smartphone world and gaming on a touchscreen to post a comment like this.

every phone these days has an application store where you can download apps that are free, or otherwise. because each iphone app is designed to use on an iphones operating system, you can’t run iphone apps on this phone. this phone runs android software and you download apps for it from the android marketplace. most apps like angry birds, fruit ninja etc will be made for both operating systems, but there will also be apps unique to each of the market places. Apple’s store probably still has the most apps but I would venture a guess at saying that the android market is a close second followed by windows phone and the inferior nokie ovi store which has f*ck all!

Apps are available on almost every phone, as app is just short for application. So yes, this phone can use apps from the android marketplace. Apps intended for just the iphone will not work on this device.

(1) Some people prefer Android; (2) some prefer dedicated gaming keys; (3) Android has been compared with WP7/iOS time in and time out–wait until a newer version comes out for a comparison; (4) this is a phone SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR SONY’S GAMING “ECOSYSTEM” so you will have to ask them.

They are obviously not trying to create an entirely new experience for every single mobile phone user–this is a niche device for a niche market. If you don’t like it, get something else.

If you want, get an iPhone/Windows Phone. The iPhone already has awesome FPSs that make good use of the touch screen, and Windows Phone is rumored to get a Halo port from MGS. Android has no GOOD apps that distinguish it, and no good games/gaming service. Why should I get this over one of those two options? In your reviews, could you please have a section at the end comparing it to other operating systems? What is the point of this when there is no first-party gaming service (that is not restricted to just one phone? And also, what is the point of getting this over other OSes that have far better app ecosystems (with quality apps and games)?

I would buy N8.

Its at least a very good camer always in your pocket. XPeria is always in your pocket too, but even with game controls it still cannot satisfy at least this gamers game needs. Android games are boring and PS1 games have been played so long time ago, that I wouldn’t buy any expensive device for that purpose any more.
