Including a video of Hockey Nations 2011 on the product blog.. With the PlayStation Suite and the not-so-hard looking developing for the Gamepad through the every day normal developing of a game the future for the XPERIA Play looks great, I think. And I read the update makes the display more bright. And remember: Maybe the SE doesnt want the display to be too bright, because of the battery life?

When I first got my G2, I found Swype so good, the keyboard largely went unused. On certain games I found myself wishing it had gamepad. This phone seems rather underwhelming, but like everyone says, what the developers make of it is what will make or break this phone.

I think both. No 720p? I mean, come on! Almost every phone out there has HD recording.
The iPhone is also a huge competitor, but I feel the touchscreen part of the Xperia Play can do almost everything the iPhone can. Sure, it doesn’t have the app store, 720p recording or an iPod built it, but it has the android market, an okay camera and SE’s Media Player.
Don’t get me wrong, the iPhone still has a lot more features, but the major ones that I just listed are the ones that count for me.

Chris out of the Xperia Play, PSP2, a phone powered by tegra 2, and tegra 2 tablet. Which would you pick if you could only have one?

Wow, most comprehensive review I’ve seen. A shame about all the launch troubles (http://psp2roundup.blogspot.com/2011/04/xperia-play-launch-day-news.html) but still looking forward to getting a white model and playing all those fun phone games with decent controls.

I know this is not something the average phone buyer would be concerned with but, having played around with this phone the other day, that control pad + the emulators you can get on android = brilliant.

There’s a limit on how much you could carry, I suppose, at any one time! Would you really want to take an XPERIA Play *and* a PSP2 with you?

It’s definitely worth a try, though it’s not for everybody. I think most users looking at accommodating the extra bulk of a slider would probably find a QWERTY keyboard more useful.
