Retailer 3, said that it is delaying the Xperia Play launch until next week at the earliest as a result of stock issues.

its a great product (I have one) and already has a big portfolio of games. Also, with games being constanly added via the marketplace, the growth will be way beyond that of the tradutional handheld console market as the channel to market for games developers and ‘porters’ is far easier and infintely more cost efficient.

Maybe if it came on other carriers, such as Sprint. I noticed at least one error on the press release; the name of the game is “Jumping Flash”, not “Jumping Jack Flash”.

The options aren’t exactly great in the poll. I’m not buying but not because I don’t need a new phone or because I want a separate device (I’m all about converegence when possible). Games tend to be among the most resource heavy applications and with all the dual core phones on the horizon with better GPUs (tegra, adreno 220, etc.) it seems silly to buy a phone which in six months might not be able to handle the highend games, at least in all their glory.
