Oops!  Looks like the latest version of Sony Ericsson’s long-evolving P series Smartphones hasn’t met with the great applause the hype might have suggested.  The P990i, which rocks 3G, WiFi, a sizable touchscreen and built-in QWERTY keyboard, is meant to be the hub of your portable tech life.  Pocket-lint, however, found it to be bulky (the protruding lens cover over the 2 megapixel camera coming in for some abuse), tricky to use (with atypical scroll-wheel and back-key placement compared to competitors) and slow.

They still rate it at 7 out of 10, but their comment that users would have to be brave to whip it out in public might make fashion-conscious execs look elsewhere.
