Sony Ericsson blame XPERIA Arc 2.4 leaks on "misconfiguration"

Sony Ericsson has described screenshots showing the XPERIA Arc apparently running Android 2.4 as "a misconfiguration in some samples", as well as confirming that the 4.2-inch smartphone runs Qualcomm's 1GHz MSM8255 processor paired with Adreno 205 graphics. According to the company's official blog, the higher version numbers – which some suggested was indication Sony Ericsson would launch the Arc with a version of Android higher than Gingerbread on the Nexus S – are "nothing to get too excited about."

Still, with Android 2.3 the XPERIA Arc is still a slick handset, as we discovered in our hands-on with the smartphone last week. Sony Ericsson has also confirmed four-point multitouch and WiFi b/g/n, though it's worth noting that the Arc lacks both NFC and a front-facing camera.
