Sony Alpha A57 image leaks, rumored for this week

The first press image of the Sony Alpha range's latest camera, the A57, has surfaced along with some specs and a rumored release date. Similar to the Sony Alpha A65, this upcoming Sony Alpha A57 is also a DSLT, featuring a translucent mirror, but has scaled back specs to target a lower price bracket.

The Sony Alpha A57 offers a 16-megapixel Exmor HD sensor with ISO modes of 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 6400, 12800, and 16000. It's capable of shooting at 10fps or 12fps in a tele-zoom mode and it has a 1.44 million dot electronic viewfinder. It has three cross sensors and a 15-point auto-focus. Video recording is AVCHD 2.0 60p/ 60i/24p.

Sony is rumored to announce the Alpha A57 early tomorrow morning, March 13. The camera is expected to be priced at $699, to compete against the Canon 600D/T3i and the Nikon D5100.
