Sony A33 & A55 Pellix DSLRs Pictured, No Release Date Provided

Is it ironic when a rumored camera gets a pre-release photoshoot of its own? If so, the new Sony A33 and A55 Pellix DSLRs are steeped in it, because a few photos have just broken cover over at Photo Rumors. They show off the camera's slanted design (if you look hard enough, you can see the shoulders are slightly sloped), as well as that LCD screen able to detach from the camera's body, and swing down.

What's better, though, is that the suspected specifications for the pair of cameras have also managed to find their way onto the Internet, too. First, the Sony A33, which is the "lesser" of the two DSLRs. It has a 14MP sensor, an ISO range of 100 – 12800, and it has the ability to shoot 1080i HD video. It has 15 auto-focus points, some of which cross-point. There are dual memory slots, but it's unknown what type of card would go there.

As for the Sony A55, it has a 16MP sensor, has an ISO range of 100 – 12800, and also has the ability to shoot 1080i HD video. It, too, has 15 auto-focus points, some of which cross-point. There's also the pair of memory slots, but again there's no mention of what type of cards it will take. Both cameras are using the Pellix mirror system, which should mean both cameras have quicker auto-focus times. The A55 stands out with its built-in GPS, though. As we mentioned above, there's no word on pricing yet, and the release date is expected to be announced at Photokina next month.
