11.1 inches diagonal and less than an inch thick. 2.65 pounds, and a battery life of 4-7.5 hours depending on usage. Think you have died and gone to ultra-portable heaven? Me too.
Sure Sony’s VAIO TZ was already released across the water, but alas it is making its way to the states. With stats like an Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 processor and up to 2GB of RAM, what’s not to like? Well the price for one, on the low-end it starts at a mere $2200 and goes up to $3000, which grants you a clear coat so you can see the carbon fiber makings as well as an upgraded processor and a 32GB SSD drive instead of the standard 100GB HDD. ![]()
As far as connectivity goes it really does have it all, wireless flavors of the entire alphabet A through N, Bluetooth, and even access to Sprint’s EV-DO Rev. A network. There is also an ExpressCard slot, SD and Memory Card readers, 2 USB ports, gigabit Ethernet, modem, and a 4-pin IEEE 1394 port.
Thin, light, long lasting battery, and a high level of functionality, I don’t think there is much more to ask for.
