I have been in love with the Sonos system's simplicity, clarity and
versatility since I first installed a bridge and connect about 4 years
ago. Since then, like an addict I have added another connect, a connect
amp and finally a play 3. My connect amp powers a pair of speakers in my
kitchen/dining room, they are fine speakers and I have been very happy
with them until now. Of course, as soon as I saw the Sonos subwoofer I
wanted to add it to my connect amp! There is something about Sonos's
products that make you want them, because they just work well, and their
customer service (the few times I have needed to use them) are based
here in America and they are excellent.

Anyway, I ordered the
subwoofer last week and out of the box it is solid and heavy (be careful
getting it out of the packaging). Setting it up is easy - just add a
Sonos device from the iphone/ipod/android/ipad app, push a button on the
subwoofer to connect it to your Sonos system and then equalize the two
speakers in the subwoofer (my speakers did not need adjustment as the
sound from the each of the speakers were identical), then adjust the
volume from the subwoofer and finally select the size of of the speakers
the subwoofer will be paired with. It may not be exactly in that
order...but believe me it is very easy.

Now for the sound that comes out of this sub...
It
does exactly what a good subwoofer should - it brings out the low
notes, so that they resonate, giving the music you listen to more
"depth", and you can "feel" the music. It does this with most of what I
have listened to so far, from Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" to my
Jazz music. Right now I am listening to Dick Hyman's "From The Age Of
Swing" and the low notes stand out and the music feels more like a live
performance.

As one of the previous reviewers noted, as long as
you have either a connect amp, play 3 or play 5 (these are the only
devices that work with the sub), you can get the sub to work with a
connect (just group the connect with one of the devices mentioned above,
and put the sub in the room with the connect). I have tried this and it
works.

Not a cheap system, but then most good things in life are not!

for best offer I suggest at --> Amazon.com/dp/B00834SIO0/?tag=slashgear.com-20
