Sonos adding Twitter integration to remotes

Sonos have announced Twitter integration with their multi-room audio system, which will allow users to send out tweets about the currently playing track.  Rolling out from today as a beta, the social networking addition comes in Sonos System Software v3.1 and will be available to all Sonos users later in the fall.

Up to five Twitter accounts can be associated with a single Sonos setup, and the client will work on the new CR200 touchscreen remote, the iPhone/iPod touch app and the desktop Sonos software for PC and Mac.  Tweets can contain just the currently playing track information – including artist and song title – or can be edited to include other information.

Examples of what the tweets will look like are in the gallery below, together with screenshots of the iPhone app and the CR200 app.  When it sees its public launch, Sonos System Firmware v3.1 will be a free upgrade to all users.
