Sonic Unleashed delayed for PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan until Spring

If you've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Sonic Unleashed from Sega and you live in Japan, you might just have to wait a little bit longer. The original release date for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 was December 18th, but it has been moved back to sometime in the spring of 2009.

The game is set to be called Sonic World Adventure in Japan, and the delay is said to be due to Sega's desire to improve the game. This seems like a good enough reason to me, but the quality assurance doesn't seem to be across the board.

In fact, Japan is the only place that will experience this delay. The U.S. will still see Sonic Unleashed before the year is out, on the Xbox 360 on November 24th and on the PS3 on December 12. This is just plain weird. So the U.S. version of the game will have problems but will be released anyway? Color me confused! However, it seems the Wii version will still be released in both the U.S. and Japan on its original release date. So, that version will have problems everywhere–I guess.
