the bad thing about samsung is that their approach, gives way to sloppy product development. I bought a 26 in 720 lcd screen tv, had problems with the leaking capacitors that would make the tv turn off. So that makes me think that the samsung label has inferior product quality. And any reasonable person would make the connection that if the tv malfunctioned and samsung did nothing to rectify the problem, the same approcah will happen with their other products. So I am not going to buy a samsung tablet.

Someone tell Samsung we don’t need a new tablet/phone every week. I get it that they try to have entry level devices for those who can’t afford their falgship devices, but can’t they find a new name for those entry level devices. I think “Galaxy” should be for their flagships devices, and not everything they come with every week, so confusing.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE & GALAXY NEXUS is way better than any phone I tested.. Even the iphone 4s, Nokia n9 and other high end phones don’t have the SUPER AMOLED HD screen with very fast processor and internet connectivity.

Try the GSM pentaband version of GALAXY NEXUS with ICS and it will blow any smartphone now…

You have a very good point there, nice man. Samsung just borrow & copy not much just don’t mention about Bada. They don’t come up with the good software & hardware so far, just look at their handset resale value suck big time at many place here. Don’t misunderstand I like Android too ok. I almost buy a Galaxy Note, but when I try it after my friend bought it last month it’s still doesn’t impress me much on software part.

I’ll be honest here, I’m actually thinking about purchasing one of these since I own the original 7 inch and am quite pleased with it. I wish they would up the screen real estate to 8 inches standard since I cannot fit this into a pocket anyway and the original, if I can judge by it vs. the new models, is a tad too heavy to hold and type while horizontal at the 7 inch size. I have my phone for vertical, but my tablet is for anything I can bet away with not using the laptop , or laying down in bed and reading.

Apple may steal the show for me by providing something at 10 inches that I can actually consider using in my current pattern. I think I will give the Galaxy Note or the Tab 2 one more chance to wow me but if it still turns out to be halfway for me I may as well jump on the Cupertino bandwagon!

Samsung owns so much stuff that yet they cant manage to make 20% of what Apple makes. They have so many professionals working for their products yet they cant seem to be able to make software of any kind. They have to borrow all their software because they suuuuuuuuuuuuck at that….big time. Apple on the other hand, focuses on the concept and the logic of new products, has someone to make their hardware a reality and puts all of their effort towards making good software.

Get over your anti-Apple campaign, you are just looking like an ignorant who cant seem to comprehend technology. If I were a Fandroid I would feel severely insulted of having such a kid in my team. SAMSUNG – OWNS parts, manufacturing facilities, have best hardware engineer on earth, have the widest reach in the world, owns thousands of patents…

So they can make tons of products as long as they want…

Apple in particular doesnt own any of those and before they can build one, they have to talk to tons of supplier, manufacturer and need to be tested for long time…

So they are different beast in wilderness…

The main reason i see is, Samsung doesn’t want to leave any chance for Apple to come up with another form factor. I guess Samsung has now covered pretty much most of the key sizes.

While in process, they ended up in a surprisingly new form factor that was indeed found to be very useful – Galaxy Note. If they didn’t, Apple would’ve given it a go and guess what, most pro-apple gadget news sites would give 5 stars and praise them for coming up with such a creative size..

Samsung is now all about pre-emptive attack.

judging by its specs, tab 2 looks like tab 7 plus’ little sibling
tab 2 is slower, a tad thicker and wifi models lacks gps functionality which set samsung tablets above the competition for so many years.
i’m guessing the tab2 will be an escalation in the android tablet price war, samsung is targeting the 199-299 range

correction, the specs are the only dif between the 4 and the 4s. Ever play Infinity blade 2 on the 4s? yeah, didnt think so. The GPU on the 4s blows away any phone currently on the market. more or less the same..pfftt! Get real! 2x faster and 7x the graphics.

Very few people will buy more than one tablet every couple years… At least until the prices get ridiculously low. So in the mean time the tablet that sells will be the one each buyer thinks has the best balance of price, performance and brand on the day when he has decided to buy.

Since Apple has already won the brand war, other competitors (like Samsung) need to have as wide a range of options as possible and always have something new on the market which is just a little better than whatever was out before.

So yes. This strategy is logical for this market. Choosing to use it, suggests to me that they understand the market enough to offer what I need.
