Some Nexus 7 orders starting to ship in the UK

Several retailers in the UK will be carrying the 16GB version of the Nexus 7, with stock reportedly coming in on July 20th. Ebuyer looks to have received some of the tablets earlier than expected, with one user taking to Google+ to say his order was being prepared for shipment. Checking Ebuyer's site earlier showed that the retailer did have a small amount of the tablet in stock, but the company seems to have run out, with the tablet going back to pre-order status.

Bob Peers took to Google+ to let the world know that his order was being prepared, and checking Ebuyer showed that the retailer briefly had some tablets in stock. They all appear to have been snapped up, with the Nexus 7 listing indicating that the next batch will be available on July 19th. Ebuyer is just one of the retailers that will stock the 16GB version of the tablet, with others including PC World, Dixons, Comet, and the Carphone Warehouse. The 8GB version will not be sold in retail stores, however, and will only be available on the Play Store.

The Nexus 7 features a 7-inch 1280x800 IPS display, a quad-core Tegra 3 processor designed by NVIDIA, 1GB of RAM, 8 or 16GB of storage, and a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera. The tablet also comes with NFC, and is running the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean. When you buy a Nexus 7, you'll also receive $25/£15 of free Play Store credit, plus a copy of Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon.

There's no exact word on when the tablet will ship in the United States, although a Staples listing has indicated that it may be delivered sometime between today and July 17th. The Play Store currently shows a 1 to 2 week wait for both versions of the tablet.
