Everyone’s got a keyboard, right? Well, if you’re reading this, chances are that you do. However, how many of you have a solar-powered keyboard? Me either. For those of you that think this is the perfect way to power your keyboard, then check out the Genius SlimStar 820. It looks like a regular keyboard, except for the small panel in the upper right-hand corner. It even comes bundled with a wireless mouse.

Now step back and think about this logically for a second. This puppy is solar-powered, so it gets its juice from the sun. I don’t know about you, but my desk is inside, far away from the sun. In fact there are some days where I don’t even see the sun, and when I do, I don’t take my keyboard with me.

The unit was designed with the environment in mind. So you might be wondering, how does the mouse get it’s power? Well, instead of the usual 2 AA batteries that most mice take, it requires 4. At least the mouse is rated at 15 months of use before you’ll need to change them.
