Soccer ball generates power after being kicked around

Soccer is a popular game here in the US, but the popularity of the sport in other countries is much higher. Kids in Europe and other nations like Africa follow soccer games like many kids in the US follow baseball or football.

A slick power generating soccer ball called the sOccket is now in version 2.0 status. The name is a combination of soccer and socket and after explaining what the sOccket does you will get the name. The ball can be used to play soccer just as you would with any other ball, only the sOccket generates power as it is kicked around.

For every 10 minutes the ball is played with, it stores enough power to run a small LED light for three hours. That little LED light is a very big deal in Africa and other developing nations where electricity is scarce. The light lets children be able to do homework and other things.
