My Asus Transformer plays Divx and most other files I’ve thrown at it just fine. Although mine has been great so far (had it since May15, so more than 2 months) complaints would be initial build quality (getting better by the batch) and the lag on typing through the keyboard on websites.

Have an Archos, it’s not bad. I’ve had bad experience with Android cell phones in the past (and currently) so I’m wary to try Honeycomb though I admit it looks appealing. My bets are on Playbook once that native SDK is launched. Had an original iPad, sold it. I couldn’t do any research for work on the web browser. I know it’s fine for some, but didn’t fit my needs.

I think I will end up buying a 7″ android tablet. I really like reading in bed or while laying on the couch and my netbook is just not designed for that. I like the lightweight form factor of the tablet over a netbook. Don’t like ebook readers since I also want to surf the net and play games. So a tablet makes the most sense. Not a fan of Acer because they always make junk. Blackberry and MS just need to give up. It’s too hard to compete with Android and IOS. Most likely will end up with a ASUS or HTC.

Don’t like that Archos doesn’t support android market and resistive touch screen not as smooth as capacitive. Price is good but those 2 deficiencies are too big to ignore.

reliability and predictability???? So you know that the iPad cannot surf in the internet really well because the browser does not support flash … how is that the best and how in hell is that mature … you got to be shitting me … Also the apple iPad 2 feels terrible in hand, yes it is thin, but the material makes it feel very slippery, like a piece of glass. When you hold it, you are just always afraid you will drop it … feels slippery in hand, terrible! If you want a real, tablet, buy an android one … or maybe you like surfing empty webpages with no flash to display … how fun …

For the money, I think you’d be hard-pressed to beat the Archos line of tablets. . . I own a Archos 101 ($299)and my kids both have Archos 43′s ($179 each). Very good video playback from virtually any file format you throw at them, battery life is really good, and mini-HDMI outputs for playing through a TV. . . I’m extremely satisfied with all of mine. I have two co-workers who have the Archos 70 ($229) and they love theirs as well. Give them a look!!!

No tablet for me I hate them. Tablet’s have grabbed a hold of the uninitiated to personal computing, and has changed it into this micro transaction double billing paid service that I want no part of.

I bought a white Pandigital Novel about a year ago and recently updated it with the new Android update.
My main use was and is as an ereader. I got it for about $120.00 dollars and it is still at that price.

If you don’t know exactly what you want this, with that update, is a good choice. It’s not great but it lets you play with a tablet cheap.
I’ve added a couple calculators, a much better ereader and a few other apps.
I know it’s not exactly what I want and unless a good pdf reader comes along I’ll wait for a Windows machine before I buy a 10 inch model with the ability to add a keyboard and built in GPS. A pixel Qi screen would be nice, but most of the time I’m indoors with it.

Of course the down side is that I’ve forgotten how to turn pages in a real book…

I have got the Xoom earlier – not as sexy like Galaxy Tab 10.1, but with all functionality (even in Europe we are still waiting for 3.1 update). But for common user, Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Transformer can make very good work.
