Snapseed Desktop hits Mac App Store, coming to Android

Apple-vaunted iOS image editing app Snapseed has launched on the Mac App Store, with the company promising an Android version is in the pipeline for release soon. Originally launched for the iPhone and iPad, and winning App of the Year 2011 in the process,, Snapseed Desktop for Mac is now available for OS X priced at $19.99.

Focused on photo editing, Snapseed Desktop includes various editing, filtering and general mangling tools. Intelligent highlighting allows for Photoshop-style selections, with real-time tweaks for white balance, saturation and contrast (with an auto-correct mode), selective editing, artificial Tilt Shift creation, sharpening, cropping and straightening.
