If I asked you what the fastest-selling Nintendo title was, what would you guess? If you were thinking Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you’d be correct. What’s the prize you ask?  You get the pleasure of knowing that you had the right answer. What do you want, a sticker?

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Smash Bros. Brawl didn’t just do well on launch day, it sold 874,000 copies just on that first Sunday. Since then it has totaled over 1.4 million sold. This makes it the fastest-selling game in Nintendo America’s  library to date.

Just to give you an idea, Halo 3 pulled in $300 million in the first week. If we’re assuming that every copy of Brawl sold for $49.99, the game would have gotten roughly $70 million in the first week. You’ll also have to take into account that Halo 3 sold in three different versions ranging from $60-$130. This means my numbers don’t exactly stack up perfectly against each other, but it does give you an idea where the money lies.
