You seem to be a quick learner, evidenced by your recitation of the letters of the alphabet (although you seem to believe it goes on beyond “Z”), so let me school you right quick:

Had the article differentiated between PCs sold with Windows, Linux, OS X, or other, you would have had a point. Had the article mentioned mobile OSes, you would have had a point. Had the article aggregated sales of different manufacturers according to their OSes, you would have had a point. Even had your chosen name been something other than a bootstrapped, troll of a nickname, you would have had a point.

Comments like yours add nothing useful to the conversation, other than an obvious desire to distract readers by injecting information that obfuscates the point, annoys people who already know what you are trying to say and how you’re biased just by looking at your nickname, and trolls.

I hate that word, “trolls,” but I can’t stand people who try to “Rick-Roll” conversations by making idiotic, off-topic and unsubstantiated utterances.

By the way, the original article presenting the released data says:

“Android continues to gain by leaps and bounds, helping to drive the smartphone market,” said Ramon Llamas, senior research analyst with IDC’s Mobile Phone Technology and Trends team. “It has become the cornerstone of multiple vendors’ smartphone strategies, and has quickly become a challenger to market leader Symbian. Although Symbian has the backing of market leader Nokia, Android has multiple vendors, including HTC, LG Electronics, Motorola, Samsung and a growing list of companies deploying Android on their devices.”

Android has multiple vendors, Symbian (which is still in the lead) has pretty much only Nokia.

Android is a great OS and has a lot going for it. Stop ruining its users’ reputation by being a pompous braggart–it’s smarmy.

Instead of worrying about which picture is used on this site, you should “update” your education so that you can learn how to make better points. THEN contribute to the conversation, you will.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, comments are additive to an article. So, while smartphones outsold PCs for the first time a large part of that is due to the adoption of Android. . .

Realize what commenting is for before opening mouthing and inserting foot.
