SlashGear needs your help, people! We want to give you the finest news and reviews, and to do that we need to know what you enjoy reading about. Are you into cellphones, or does the latest in laptoppery float your boat? Is it GPS you hanker after, or would you rather read all about RC helicopters? And just so it’s fair, we’ll give someone the chance to win a fantastic Slingbox AV media streamer, courtesy of our beautiful friends at SlingMedia. Worth $180, the Slingbox AV will let you watch content from your cable, satellite or PVR via the internet on any number of compatible devices.
Update: SlingMedia have kindly offered a Slingbox Tuner as well, so we now have two prizes to give away.

Entering is super-simple. All you have to do is leave a comment to this post, making a suggestion of what you’d like to see SlashGear review. You can make as many suggestions as you like, but you’ll only get one entry. Closing date is Midnight EST on Wednesday 28th November, at which point one commenter will be picked at random to win the Slingbox AV and one to win the Slingbox Tuner. Since we’ll be contacting the lucky winner via email, please check to make sure you’ve typed it correctly; if we can’t get in touch with you then we’ll give the prize to some stray cats to cheer them up. Sadly this is open to US residents only, as the Slingboxes we have are the US models.
SlingMedia will ship the Slingbox AV and Slingbox Tuner directly to the winners of this giveaway.
Good luck!

I’d like some reviews on non-US cellphones – hopefully the age of unlocked phones is finally here.
I would like to see more on the pvr world. Always some great stuff being done there. Software/Hardware reviews…
Any Universal external laptop battery
I would like to see reviews of wireless media hubs such as the future itv ; but current models already available.
DARE TO COMPARE! Devices are beoming very common. You should have a means to compare devices so that we can decide where we spend those dollars we don’t have.
I always like side by side comparisens of products. PVR is always a good one, and UMPCs.
I would like to see a review of PnP devices and software that can integrate into a seamless home entertainment center. Similar to what MS is doing with MCE and XBox.
Student Tech Reivews on products and software that are designed to help the student become more organized and efficient while being able to multi task school, work and socia life…”welcome to the social?” Okay so the Zune needs a bit more work and there aren’t any professors podcasting with the Zune in mind, but you get the point.
More reviews of WWAN cards would be nice.
Some news/reviews on anything that makes life more portable via technology. I’m never in one place long so anything that enhances the ability to have all my data, mail (snail & e-), TV, music, etc. anytime anywhere is of interest.
More Mac news please!
Networked attached storage devices.
How about a review of a Slingbox on a new UMPC like the ASUS R2H or Samsung Q1 running Vista.
I would like to see reviews of the consoles as media hubs focusing things on multimedia such as TV/Movies/DVDs, etc…
How about a review of notebook cameras?
I would like to try Slingbox AV since I am in USA and missing a lot of ASIA news.
Thanks…
I love the random coolness of the gear you highlight. Think you could discuss random coolness freeware too? My latest find is Calgoo (google calendar sync software).
Smartphone comparisons.
Smartphones and PocketPCs…..I cant get enough of them!
I’d like you to review more bathroom gadgets like the iPod toilet paper dispenser/dock & super sweet Cosmo Hydromassage Whirlpool Bathtub.
Love the site but would like to see more automotive and gadget gear convergence!
Steve
Hi Nick, make sure to visit our sister site at http://www.slashphone.com. You’ll find bunches and bunches of smartphone / wireless coverage there. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Matt, I’m working on a big review of Sprint’s Rev A. card / network. I’ve completed the testing, but need to complete and proof the review. The articles/review should be up soon. Thanks for the suggestion.
Edwin, that’s a great idea – slinging…television from half way around the world! Thanks for the tip!
Reviews of best in class, 32″ 42″ 50″ plasmas and lcd tvs.
electro^plankton, this can get really expensive. Most vendors don’t like to ship out such expensive products for review – not to mention shipping charges.
I would like to see reviews of some other non-traditional gadgets, like digital photo frames. Thanks for the entry!
I’d be interested in more reviews of tablet pc’s, wireless media hubs, portable hard drives/enclosures, travel mice, and the latest in laptop cases and packs.
I would like to see more review articles on laptops, smartphones, and DAPs
I vote for mobile devices like Tablet PCs, UMPCs, and Windows Mobile devices.
Present reviews are excellent. I would like to see a category based reviews on every type of electronic gadgets, My personal intrest is in GPS trackers.
keep the gd work goin… :)
I keep looking for information comparing current gadgets to what’s on the horizon — i.e., at what point has something become “good enough” that I should dip into my toy budget rather than waiting for the next version lurking over the horizon?
I’d like to see reviews on tablet pc’s and slate devices.
mobile entertainment like UMPCs with sling stuff, syncing with media center, etc.
Personally I am interested in all gadgets large and small…cars to chips. But if I had to pick a specialty I would say, mobile electronics.
All kinds of gadgets and PVR’s.
digital cameras and cars
Reviews of WWAN providers.
I would like to see the reviews of the newest bleeding edge cell phones that are availible in europe or asia, but could be used here in the states. We see many of them out there, but would be nice to have some local (meaning US) input.
Especially handy at this time of the year are the oddball gadgets that you often see in the holiday gift guides. WIRED magazine had a picture of a portable tripod that was adjustable and looked like it was made from rubber. Cool idea but does it really work in the real world? Sharper Image was pushing these keychain digital picture viewers but I wonder how easy is it to use. Can Grandma do it on her own? Do you need a photo editor to get the dimensions right? It’s hard to tell from a picture and the back of a box how good this stuff is.
I would like to see more comparative reviews of cell phones and Tablet pcs. There are a ton of new products out there lately, a ton of good reviews of individual products, but the reviewers all seem to spend more time on what it was like to open the packaging or how it felt in their hands and then they speed dial past all the specifications and only rarely say if it is equal to or better than a very similar product—-or why. I’m not a complete idiot, but, when i’m trying to spend hard earned dollars i want a little more than another person’s preference. I want to know up front if what i plan on using this gizmo for is really going to require a dual processor, and exactly what that will do for me. If i don’t really need that, then i could spend more money on one with more RAM or ROM or a kitchen sink for it. Know what i mean??
Very good points David – thanks!
Cool, man. I could share HD content with my mom, over the hunternuts.
I’d like a review of Garmin’s GPS runners watches. Entered! :-)
Im always having trouble and cold feet deciding which computer moniter to buy.
I am interested in those 19 inch wide displays . I really need help and some reviews!!!!!
I just got a Tablet and would love to hear more about Tablet models and especially accessories (Bluetooth CF Cards, external drives, etc.). Reviewing programs that are useful and hopefully free would be nice (they don’t have to be Tablet exclusive though).
I’d like to read about bluetooth headsets that can manage multiple devices and a comparison of wireless broadband cards (Sprint’s vs. Verizon’s)
Thanks
I’m a Tablet PC fan, and there aren’t enough head-to-head comparisons out there…
umpcs
Hi James, I’m not sure if you saw this review of the Samsung Q1 review – along with all the accessories.
http://www.slashgear.com/samsu.....041439.php
SlashGear is getting the Samsung Q1 very shortly along with the brand new 32Gb Solid State Drive from Samsung. So keep an eye out for the new review shortly. We’re planning on doing some benchmarking between the two devices since the Q1 runs Intel Celeron while the Q1b sports a cool Via Processor. The new SDD should rock.
Thanks for the suggestion.
We’re working with Panasonic, Toshiba and others to get review units in. Thanks!
Daniel is our resident camera reviewer – we’re working to bring in products for reviews in this area. Thanks!
Great suggestion! This review should be up shortly.
I’m always recommending gadgets to friends and others. What would be helpful is to provide newbies various entry points to try new technology at “best buy / most bang for buck” recommendations. After reading a great camera review, not everybody can jump in with $1000 to start; maybe that means doing price bracket reviews that over time, give people a chance to upgrade as competence and personal budgets increase. Thanks!
Personal GPS devices are becoming very popular and one of my favorite! I’m on the road a lot and cannot live with out mine. I’m currently using the Torq N100 with built in GPS and running ALK CoPilot Live 6. Awesome combination. Here’s the link to the review in case you hadn’t seen it yet.
http://www.slashgear.com/torq-.....302257.php
reviews on notebook speakers would be nice
I’d like to see a really indepth review of the PS3. Is it all sony has hyped it to be or just a giant marketing ploy to lure us into a underutilized powerhouse gaming machine.
I’d like to see a review of the Fujitsu P1610 tablet pc.
More HD Coverage :)
Looks like most MP3 players have dropped the line-in jack, which was great for converting my cassettes to MP3. Could you publish a grid of current MP3 players, with a column for those still having this input?
Here’s an interesting post by Scott Ard of CNET with an example of how he use the SlingBox to stream videos to his BlackJack phone:
“Here’s how it works: I hooked up a Slingbox A/V to my Dish Network VIP 622 HD DVR. Installing SlingPlayer Mobile on the BlackJack was very simple, as was accessing the Dish box.”

orb 2.0 review, possibilities

Reviews of more Symbian based smartphones as they are gaining popularity in the US.
We have the Nokia N73, N93 and a short article on the N95 coming up. Thanks.
I am interested on a review of the Cowon N2 ‘multipad’ (GPS-, AV-, TV-, PDA-Dingsbums).
I’m interested in seeing more shopping guides, especially during holiday season. We might know about gadgets, but a comprehensive guides on what’s the best bang for the bucks and the recommended product of the year itself.
Holiday shopping season has started, so whip it up peeps.
I would like to see a comparison of WM5 smartphone edition phones, particularly the Blackjack, Dash and Q.
Non-US MP3 players please.
I would love to see some news on the latest home automation technology. Kind of Home Depo 2015 style automation.
Hey,
I would like to see more articles about future technology (I mean, not what will be launched next year, but a a truly leap in how technology is considered) like the reserch that some labs are doing in Nanotechnology about Nano mechanical, chemical, biochemical Computers and, of course quantum computers.
I believe that the future will be center in that technology and what the experts say about the first devices for medical, security (like cryptanalisys), storage, etc.
Hope you like the challenge.
Carlos López
I would like to see a review of a hypothetical mix of products: old and new.
For example, how about a hypothetical review of a logitech io (old) mated with Samsung’s new 1.8mm thick screen (new) on its handle? How would that change the product?
Or how about the timeless Palm Vx (old) combined with the motion sensing electronics of the Wii controller (new)? How would that change the UI?
Just an idea, though it is a little strange…
I agree with many users before me, I’d like to see more tablet reviews along with a few GPS reviews sprinkled here and there. Otherwise I think you guys are doing a great job. I love your phone reviews!
I’d like to see detailed reviews of [current and upcoming] core2duo tabletpcs and personal-GPS devices.
another vote for tablet pcs
I’d love to see more cellphone related news, Its my #1 favorite topic, and I love ‘em! :D
Oh, specially those with WiFi :D
Cheers!
will.
reviews of the cell phones we have to purchase with help from a friend in the uk or asia….they have so many better gsm phones then are released here in the usa, and we can use them here! No too many places give the skinny on them
I would like to see reviews for VideoGames and cool gadgets like Nabaztag , for example
I would like to see review of gadgets that expand the use of a UMPC or Tablet PC. Something cool like sends out a signal that distorts all the loud people on cell phones around me!
I would love to see more reviews of phones like the Nokia N91 and N93. I love my N91 since it has a podcast client, feed reading client, shoots video, has a 2MP digi cam, can utilize wifi, and have a 4GB hard drive. It has replaced my iPod. There are a lot more of these cool phones out there. :-)
With the recent ruling on making unlocking phones legal, it would be interesting to have some non-US cell phones reviewed
I can never get enough smartphone reviews. Thanks
More industrial design type stuff
Like so many of my peers have commented before me, I would like to see more reviews of unlocked cell phones as well as UMPC’s. I prefer those units that have as many bells & whistles as possible!
Notebook acessories
ie: USB or ExpressCard TV tuner
Headphones
USB or ExpressCard Sound Card
I would like to review the product!!! =)
I would like to see processors reviewed. the mobil end vs the desktop verisions the trade offs.
I would like to see some reviews of Media Center PCs. With DVRs becoming so popular I feel like eventually everything will be shifting to Media Center PCs, but not just a PC with MCE installed. It would be so much more interesting if there was a real review of power PCs that use MCE.
Guangpeng, an editor will be in touch with you soon. Thanks!
This Bluetooth headset (or something affordable and similar).
http://tinyurl.com/vg3uo
I would like a review of the best pc gaming headsets (usb) since I need to buy a replacement headset for my son.
I would like to see a review of the latest generation of LCD programmable universal remotes for AV/home theater control.
I would like to see more reviews on office furniture such as chairs and desks. We all spend so much time in front of the monitor so I think that it is important that we are also comfortable.
PVR are really becoming more mainstream but what about the software that allows for the broadcasting of these shows? We’ve all heard about the mobile slingbox, but what about other platforms?
An in-depth comparison would probably cover at least two blog articles.
Automotive gear (gps, engine performance, mobile audio/video)
Sling me!
cover some more plasma tv stuff please
More sports gadgets!
A more in depth speculation/review of information regarding TiVo downloadable video service and the much speculated One True Media connection to it would be much appreciated.
Blackberry support! esspecially for new pearl (8100)!
I would like to see a review of the latest generation of Mp3 Players .
