Why the fuck are governments trying to hold the web to themselves? India’s government’s Kapil Sibal decided to monitor all posts on fb, twitter and other social networking sites.. and curb all those that they believe are against the government. And the person monitoring them is some dumbass who’s on his first date with a computer. And this? Guess the internet really is gonna crash, and not because of data overload.

I agree with the suggestion that media creators need to evolve. I was just discussing that today. The world is changing and SOPA/PIPA doesn’t help it along in a positive way.

This type of law has already been put in place in New Zealand, and the first innocent victims are being counted already, one being the owner of student accommodation who provides wireless internet to residents under a contractual obligation. He is being threatened with a fine of many thousands of dollars and the cancellation of his internet service because of the actions of one or more unknown tenants.

i like this comment- it says to me, evolve from selling your CDs or MP3s as a musician, and resign yourself to working a full time job to pay for your music “hobby” since it won’t be self-supporting anymore. this legislation is crappy, but i also think people should maybe take a moment to think about “intellectual property”, and the time and money smaller artists spend making their music/photography, that they used to be able to sell, at least to break even, if not to make a modest living!
If you have a photo gallery exhibit up somewhere, and you are trying to sell a really nice print that you’ve made or a shoot that was really challenging… how would you feel about someone just snapping a picture of it, then printing their own copy, so they can take it, bypassing paying you so they have it for free, most likely without your name even attached? just a thought…

The NWO might be an effect why do you think Youtube is owned by a world giant? Answer: Someone had youtube be universal so people can remember absolutely everything and watch videos about their lives and reminisce before the new world order comes in effect in 2012.
