WRONG. It’s nothing like Android (although it appears to be) and does not come from Nuance.
Siri is the result of the largest artificial intelligence project of its kind funded by DARPA, called “CALO”. Took 5 years and over 300+ researchers to create and it is amazing. This is what Apple got when it acquired it from SRI International (Stanford Research Institute that DARPA commissioned to create it). WHat you are seeing is a small part of it as Apple is integrating it with iOS in parts. Its a beast and we are seeing the beginning of it. Look it up ”DARPA CALO”

Siri is like Newton (or BoB!).. ahead of time and very useful…. But this time, hope Siri gets used unlike the Newton which was left to die.. It is quite easy to lose the novelty soon..

I prefer Android’s voice actions — they’re more goal-directed. I don’t want to have a conversation with my phone — I want to tell it what to do and have it do it. Look at how much back-and-forth there was to send a text or email with Siri. It’s much faster on Android: “Send text to [person] [message],” then tap send.

Dude, you are missing the entire point. There are no “key phrases” to learn. You just talk naturally. “what’s the weather like?” ” do I need a jacket/umbrella?”. It is able to use Logic. You can have a conversation with Siri and use pronouns and it will understand

This blows away anything and everything before it. Btw, Siri started out as a DARPA project before being spun off into the consumer world. This is heavy awesome stuff.

seems to be about the same as Android’s voice capabilities.
The whole key to using any of these things is learning the key phrases to get the device to do what you want.
Since Siri came from Nuance I’m sure it has good voice recognition–they’ve been doing it a long time.
Maybe this will spur Google to improve theirs even more.

It works well over a wifi signal as u can see in the videos. so does the android voice system. I wouldn’t say its real world try it over 3g or just g then see how well it works.
