Silex Technology unveils the SX-3000GB USB-to-Gigabit network adapter

USB network adapters are nothing new, they have been around for years and many computer users make use of USB adapters to connect to wireless networks and 3G mobile networks every day. Silex Technology America has announced what it claims to be the industry's first gigabit USB device server.

The SX-3000GB USB-to-Gigabit adapter allows the user to share up to 15 USB devices over a TCP/IP network using a Gigabit Ethernet interface. The dongle will allow the sharing of devices like printers, scanners, storage devices and more across a network.

The devices can be used on Mac of Windows computers and can be integrated into a Virtual Desktop environment. The adapter features a single 10/100/1000Base Ethernet port that can be connected to a wired or wireless router. Two USB 2.0 ports are built in with a combined power output of one amp. To get the 15 maximum devices shared using the adapter requires a USB hub to be connected. The SX-3000GB is available now for $99.
