kamikaze ace, you got it wrong, this is the new 24-70mm HSM lens by sigma. its going to retail for 899. 400 dollars is the price for the old one without the HSM.

maybe you should do the research, before you put it all out on this blog! newbie…

I’m eager to read reviews of the lens. I see adorama has it priced at $899, a bit more than I anticipated for the sigma but not out of line. I have been impressed with the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 mkII and I just added the Sigma 50mm f/1.4, which is also a winner. I previously owned the Canon 24-70 L and it’s a great lens. The pricing suggests Sigma is confident this new lens will compete as these other two lenses have. That said, it will be a difficult choice between a new sigma and a used Canon for slightly more. That 4 year us warranty sure helps the cause.

I believe that’s non-HSM version for $400 plus, it has been around for quite some time, The HSM version is new and wouldn’t be released util the date mentioned in the article (Japan, link from Impress), i don’t know where you saw yours??

So where i can for $400?

That’s MSRP. Sigma lenses are always sold at steep discount.
