T-Mobile Sidekick IIISidekick fans in the Britain have been gnashing their teeth in anticipation of T-Mobile UK getting their act together and releasing the third incarnation of the instant email device; up until now, we’ve had to make do with the Sidekick II, while our American brothers tease us with news of colour-changing trackballs and sleek casings.

Looking at the T-Mobile UK site today, however, and there doesn’t appear to be any mention of the Sidekick II.  Yes, it was always quite tricky to find, but there was nonetheless a link for it.  Does this herald an upgrade in the works?  If anybody from T-Mobile would like to confirm this (please!) or deny it (boo hiss) then do get in touch…

Chris, I believe we have a Sidekick 3 laying around the office - pretty sure it can be unlocked to use in UK. You want it?

Like you say, the Sidekick II has apparently disappeared from the T-Mobile site. Have you tried calling their sales department and asking if they’re still selling them?

ive been looking for a sidekick in the uk for over a year, on contract or pay as you go, ive been looking at alternatives [vario], and i was showing my friend the phone in the shop when i spotted a sidekick 3!!, unfortunaltly when i asked about it, he said they are discontinued and the display one was broken. i asked if they could order it in, he said no and they were only available on buiness deals, which requires you to buy expensive ensurance, line rental and contract!
i was wondering if a pay as you go sidekick 3 from america would work over here with a tmobile simcard?
or if an unlocked sidekick 2 i saw on ebay would work even though it doesnt look that nice,
ive seen the new sidekick ID and looks wise i love it but theres no camera or bluetooth so its practically useless!
anyway if anyone has any new on sidekicks or could answer my questions
    please email me buzz_lightyear_girl@hotmail.com
    thanks

    Majorly pissing me off.
If you check the T-Mobile UK site, and look at the pay monthly bit, the Sidekick III seems available.
But when called up to asked if they still sell them, they said no.
They have discontinued them, so WHY the hell have them up on their site still to bring people’s hopes up (like mine basically).
    Very.. annoyed.

sidekick three’s are available in england, cosiderring the sidekick slide is, it is obv going to happen. However, i think you can buy a sidekick from america, and use the simcard (providing your on a web and walk t.mobile contract) in it.
if you dont know what a web and walk t.mobile contract is, its something like ‘flext 35 with web and walk’ which atm, is £37.50, i have my sidekick slide on this.
Everyone said in 2006 that it was going to come out in november, but it obv hasnt, considering everyone is still asking this question!
can anyone actually help me. please :D x
