Hoorah! T-Mobile UK have finally got off of their pink-tinged buttocks and announced the long-awaited Sidekick 3 release. The keyboard-equipped, 1.3-megapixel camera sporting, screen-swivelling mobile messaging marvel will be available come December, with prices dependent on which tariff you sell your soul to.
For the first time in a Sidekick device there’s an mp3 player with a MiniSD slot for expandable storage. Photos taken are automatically uploaded to T-Mobile’s servers, saving on internal memory, and the same push-email and instant messaging abilities which made the Sidekick so popular are continued. In the US, where this third generation device has been available for some time, IM fans can contact friends on AIM, MSN and Yahoo! messaging clients; T-Mobile’s press release does not specify which standards they’ll be supporting, so we can only hope it’s all three rather than solely AIM as in the previous model.

I spoke to the new T-Mobile store in Guildford, Surrey - and they said that the ‘official’ release date was Monday 4th December… and were expecting stock from Friday 8th December… touch wood!
Excellent news! I’ll get on to T-Mobile and see if I can find out whether everywhere will have stock or if it’s likely to be a “lucky if you can find it” situation.
is there an internet store which will be selling these? and do you know the date they will have them?

I would imagine between $300-$350 subsidized. That’s how much it cost us here.

When I spoke to T-Mobile the other day, if you took out a roughly £25/month contract (which includes unlimited web browsing on the SK3) you got the Sidekick free. That’s an 18-month contract btw.
I went into the t mob shop on oxford street yesterday and the man there showed me the sidekick3 and let me hold it :) he said there will be limited stock for sometime before xmas but general sale will be for january.
I got my sidekick last week from the T mobile shop in Ipswich he said that it is available in some shops for a limited time but wont be on the website till january. You should all go out and get one its great the track ball flashes different colours if you have a message or an email or an instant message or if you get a phone call. I got it on the £27.50 a month contract and the phone was only £9.99. If anyone wants any other info let me know.
do they have limited edition in uk?
Does any body elses not come with msn? Or if so do you know if it can be installed on to it, as it was suppost to be.

I got my SK3 for xmas and was also very disapointed to find that it didnt come with MSN. When i rang T-mobile and asked if i could install it, i was told that i could and they sent me a website to download it from. When i tried the link however, it would never work. I rang them again to ask why this was happening and i was then told that i wouldn’t be able to install MSN on my SK and that i would just have to use AOL. None of my friends have AOL, they all use MSN, so i can’t talk to them on-the-go as i was hoping.
Typing this on my SK3 now got it a couple weeks before it came out back in December, they need to sort out msn on it cos only a few of my friends use it. The good thing is I am a mac user and ichat which is on that is hosted by AOL so I use the same account on AIM and its great!

Yo, your all talking bull. The t-mobile shop in birmingham stocks sidekick 3s. Got mine a few months ago. Go get one, dont be waiting for this ‘official release date’ x
I neeeeeed msn on this flipping sidekick. Its the onky reason I bought it! Well one of the main reason but anyway is it impossible for the uk sidekick to use msn messenger? I don’t use aol or yahoo and now I can’t even get my catoloog to work so I can’t get yahoo either! This is really aggravating!!
i got my SK 2 weeks ago and no msn. i noticed that t-mobile update the catalogue every month or so but still no msn and its getting into september.
like most other people i can get yahoo and aol but i dont use them and neither do my friends. all the other stuff on the net from nearly 6 months ago said that t-mobile were going to release msn in 3 months. so about 3/4 months ago, still no msn.
i really hope they fix this soon as its really annoying a device thats soul purpose is for socialising and doesnt support one of the most popular IM services

I have notice people are asking where they can get a sidkick 3.
I scarched the internet for days with no luck.
I emailed T mobile and they dont have them in stock through the internet but said ring my local T mbile shop to see it they have any in stock.
With luck my local T mobile had one in stock and said they could get hold of another one with in a week for me to for my bf to.
Most T mobile shops have 1 sidekick in stock so just ring round them and see if they have one.
I also have see people are trying to get msn.
Think only USA can get msn
but I did go on the msn’s website using my sidekick. you can download it from there but with you not been able to get it in the uk you just get a message saying it is not available and you can sign up to a email update when msn will but available on your sidekick

Well you’re supposed to be but I would assume they will unlock them somehow but it is meant to be for T-Mobile.
I’m sooo gutted! I just got a SK3 last month, only to find out the the new Sidekick LX is out this month in the US! Does anyone know when it will be out in the UK??
hey im loving the sk3 and i found in other websites that msn was suppose to be launched by now, does anyone know if t-mobile uk have said when they will launch msn and if it be this year
hi, i want a sidekick 3 so badly, i wanted one for nearly a year now, i was due a free upgrade in june and they were out in april, they were then DISCONTINUED extremely annyingly just before i could get my free updgrade when i renewed my contract, i had to get an MDA vario2 which is quite possibly the MOST annoyingly over equipped phone i have ever known, and a few months later for no reason whatsoever one of the keys popped out, the sk3 comes out again, i was going to get it replaced but they apparently knew nothing of it, weeks after that i had seen one in my local tmobile store (basingstoke) and tried it out, didnt have the money for it though so i couldnt buy it, and didnt have that vario 2 so i couldnt exchange it,
been searching them all around and also today re checked for one and asked in store and all they said was NO.
this is the most annoying thing in the world
just because it sells SO MUCH or doesnt sell enough
whatever Tmobiles bull story is
does not mean they can yo yo with us by continually and repeatedly release and discontinue it.
they better bring it out again, FOR GOOD.
it would also be very good for there buisness as millions will buy them.
they should show some sense to be honest!

I really like it, but i can’t get it because im on Vodafone…
I got the sidekick slidw I was upset it only had yahoo as the man in the shop was telling me it would. I wish I got the iphone at least it had youtube. I found a site to use msn but I would like it to be avalible in the catalogue. There are much better phones avalible for cheaper, and motorola could of at least made the camera good or mp3s avalible as ringtones.
