Sid Meier's Ace Patrol soars onto iOS

2K and Firaxis Games have announced the launch of a new video game for iOS gamers. The game looks very interesting and comes from Sid Meier, the person behind the incredibly popular Civilization series of video games. The new game is called Ace Patrol.

The game puts players behind the controls of World War I biplane as they battle to take control of the skies. The game is described as a strategic aerial combat title and will work on both the iPhone and the iPad. Players will use their aircraft to defend their base camp and allies.

Players will be able to progress through various campaigns across Europe while the upgrade their skills, improve the aircraft, and perform other tasks. Players will be able to choose from 30 vintage and historical World War I aircraft. The game has a total of over 120 missions and players can choose their team of Aces each offering a special skill to expand options during play.

Players will also be able to upgrade and promote their top pilots throughout the course of the game campaign. The game can be played as a turn-based single-player title, a two-player hot pad game, or as synchronous multiplayer through Game Center. The game is available as a free download on the App Store and as you can imagine the will be hoards of in game purchase options.
