So you’ve seen them unboxed and now you want to know how they perform – well rest easy, cowboy, because the Shure E500PTH “Push To Hear” headphones have been reviewed good’n'proper by Jeremy Toeman over at LIVEdigitally. Were they ear-heroes or ear-zeroes? Well, the short answer is “heroes” and the longer answer is “the microphone works really well, the earphones’ performance generally is superb and the added bonus is that they carry on working even if the microphone’s single AAA battery runs down”.

The E500PTH headphones set is available now for $400, although you can also buy the microphone control box separately if a loved one has already bought you headphones as a sentimental gift.
