Sherwood has unveiled its latest home theater AV receiver called the RD-705i. The new receiver has a wide range of features like UPnP and the ability to stream content from the internet directly to your speakers. The receiver supports Pandora, Aupeo, Reciva, Shoutcast, and other streaming music services.
The receiver connects to the web using 802.11n WiFi and it can play music streamed wirelessly from other devices in your home like Windows 7 PCs. Inside the receiver is a 192kHz/24-bit D to A converter with full bit rate MP3, AAC, WMA, and WAV format support. The device will also work with the optional DS-10 iPod dock.
Other features include HDMI 1.4 inputs that are 3D ready and the receiver has repeaters built-in. Blu-ray Dolby and DTS formats are supported. The amp has 100W RMS at 8 ohms for each channel. Connectivity includes three HDMI inputs and a single HDMI output along with four composite inputs, three AV inputs, and two AV outputs. The device will ship in November for $499.95.
