Seiki 55-inch 4K Ultra HD TV heads to Sears

One thing that is very common for 4K televisions on the market right now is that they tend to cost a lot of money. Some name brand 4K televisions can cost over $10,000. Before most consumers won't start purchasing 4K resolution televisions until the price comes down significantly. Thankfully, some Chinese manufacturers are offering 4K televisions that cost less than some of the full HD resolution TVs on the market today, such as Seiku.

Seiku unveiled a 50-inch 4K television selling for $1299. Another company called Seiki has announced that it will be shipping a 4K Ultra HD television that will be exclusive to Sears in the United States. The television will be available at more than 500 US Sears retail stores and features a 55-inch screen size. The 55-inch 4K Ultra HD TV will sell for $1499.

Sears will also offer a 39-inch 4K model from Seiki. The official price at Sears for the smaller 39-inch model isn't announced, but the Seiki website lists it at a $699 MSRP. The 55-inch 4K TV will have a native resolution of 3840 x 2160. It will also use a 120 Hz refresh rate for 1080p and a 30Hz rate for 4K content.

Other features will include a built-in digital and analog tuner, USB port for 4K photo viewing, and multiple connectivity options including HDMI 1.4. The TV will also include a 1-year replacement warranty and US-based tech support. This TV sounds like an incredible deal; the only downside is that Chinese companies aren't typically known for quality products.
