Sega Toys' Handheld Aquarium is a fun diversion

Who doesn't like a little bit of useless tech once in awhile? That's exactly what the Handheld Aquarium from Sega Toys offers users in its Wiimote-crossed-with-iPod form.

This toy is very similar to those Tamogotchi toys. It features a fish in an aquarium that shows up on the screen that you must take care of if it is to survive. The world around your creature grows as it grows, giving you more options for gameplay. You can play either a dolphin or an angelfish and there are three mini games you can play with your digital pet.

This underwater gadget is suitable for all ages and is a fun way to teach kids how to take care of something. That being said, a display-based fish isn't going to replace the family dog.
