Nokia World is underway and SlashGear is at the show live. We had hoped that there would be a lot of new devices unveiled at the show and so far, there have been some cool announcements. The Lumina 800 Windows Phone for instance looks very nice on paper and we can't wait to try the smartphone out in person. Nokia Windows Phones may not hit US until 2012

According to leaked advertising plans, Nokia may not be releasing its Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices in the US until 2012. That means the much anticipated Nokia N9 look-alike called the Nokia 800 along with the Sabre and Ace, which are all expected to be unveiled at this week's Nokia World conference, may only be available in Europe and other parts of the world in time for the holidays this year.

Dell is betting on Windows 8 as the company's best chance of tablet success against the iPad, with CEO Michael Dell arguing that the Android slate market "has not developed" as predicted. Speaking at Dell World 2011 this week, V3 reports, Dell described the PC manufacturer as "very aligned with Microsoft around Windows 8" and teased that "you'll hear more about Windows 8 from us and see a wide range of products released."

Microsoft launches Windows Phone devices in India

Microsoft held an event in India recently where it launched Windows Phone 7.5 Mango in the country. The first device that will come to India is said to be the HTC Radar. The Radar is a flagship Mango device and will hit Indian stores as early as next week. Other Mango devices including the Samsung Omnia W and Acer Allegro will come to the carrier in November according to reports.
