Gold iPhone 5S hardware dummy appears aside standard black and white

Gold iPhone 5S hardware dummy appears aside standard black and white

This week we've heard more than one unofficial confirmation that the iPhone 5S would be launched with three color models - and today we're seeing the whole lot. According to sources - the anonymous kind - speaking on the iPhone 5S launch coming up soon (as soon as September 10th, as it were), the device is set to be sent out in white, black, and gold. This third color option is not likely to be gold the same way a golden pirate coin is gold, instead appearing much closer to a Champagne in tone.

Gold iPhone 5S looks a September 10 lock-in

Gold iPhone 5S looks a September 10 lock-in

Apple's iPhone 5S will almost certainly come in a gold or champagne finish, multiple sources have confirmed with insiders familiar with the next-gen iOS 7 flagship smartphone, describing the finish as "elegant" rather than gaudy. After reports over the weekend of a new color option for the iPhone 5S alongside the existing black and silver, and chatter of leaked parts earlier this month, now AllThingsD claims its moles have told it to "think champagne, not ingot" about the third hue, which will be paired with a white fascia. However, the gold iPhone 5S isn't solely about a new color, with long-standing talk of fingerprint biometrics expected to culminate in a new push for smartphone security in iOS 7 and beyond.

iPhone 5S gold edition surfaces in France

iPhone 5S gold edition surfaces in France

In the array of photos of the iPhone 5S that've we've seen over the past few weeks, one set of "Champagne" or otherwise gold-colored parts have appeared: today we can make that two. What's appearing to be a set of gold iPhone 5S parts have arrived at Mac Boutique where they've suggested the device to have its logos "blurred" for one reason or another - in other words: they're deliberately edited out. These parts appear to match leaks of this next-generation device we've seen in silver and black as recent as early this week.

iPhone 5S camera teased by black bar hardware

iPhone 5S camera teased by black bar hardware

In a set of photos from what appears to be a factory floor the iPhone 5S has been teased with two iterations: one a single-LED flash, another with a dual-LED flash. This is indicated by a single circle hole or a bit more of an oval, here showing the next-generation iPhone to be working with the same configuration we've seen in dummy models over the past two days. This leak comes from C Tech, a leakster of some note with sources in Vietnam and throughout China.

iPhone 5S Champagne parts arrive upstream

iPhone 5S Champagne parts arrive upstream

This afternoon a new set of parts - and therefor clues - have arrived in the upstream iPhone parts market indicating a new color combination for the next-generation iPhone 5S. This device will be delivered with a body and set of specifications very similar to the iPhone 5, coming some time this year with what's likely to be a next-generation processor and camera setup. Hardware appearing today suggests that a new option for coloring will be appearing as well, right in-between white and black with a rather unforeseen shade of Champagne.

iPhone 5S display appears with “5G” name indicating a lack of change

iPhone 5S display appears with “5G” name indicating a lack of change

It may be time for Apple to drop the name-change conventions entirely (once again) as an LCD display component has appeared internationally with the name "iPhone 5G" attached. While it's possible that this set of leaked images from USwitch could indicate the next iPhone model will grab a new "G" when released to the public, it's far more likely that the G stands for "generation". This would indicate that the next refresh of the iPhone will either stick with the name iPhone 5 or will drop the numbers entirely, like the iPad.

iPhone plastic backs and buttons appear on factory floor

It's once again time to look at the next iPhone, the "budget" model, as it were, with several different colors in store for the near future. This week it would appear that those responsible for manufacturing this next-generation model have let loose several different views of the machine, both from the inside and with its several buttons in full view. You'll see a light blue, red, green, and yellow here, consistent with several recent leaks of the machine in kind.

iPhone color rush: “budget” plastic backs leaked

iPhone color rush: “budget” plastic backs leaked

There's a brand new collection of so-called "budget" iPhone colored backs, the lot of them showing up as especially vibrant tones as expected. It's been expected that this lot would appear with connections to the recently enlivened aesthetics of iOS 7, an operating system given a boost by Apple's Jony Ive himself. Here we see that the innards will, if these images prove true, match the outer bits as well.

iPhone 5S frame and “budget” iPhone shells reportedly leak again

Apple's "budget" iPhone can't seem to stay hidden, if a new set of leaked images are to believed, with the much-rumored entry-level iOS smartphone cropping up in new shots along with what's said to be the iPhone 5S' mid-frame. The images, shared by AppleDaily, show the now-familiar five hues of plastic-shelled iPhone - red, yellow, white, blue, and green - as well as an iPhone 5S that looks, unsurprisingly, strikingly similar to the existing iPhone 5.
