Wacom has outed its latest tablet stylus, the Wacom Bamboo Stylus duo, targeting both iPad and Android slate owners this time but also catering to those moments when you need to use traditional paper. Building on the original Bamboo Stylus for capacitive touchscreens, the new duo version has a blunt fake-finger tip on one end, along with a regular ballpoint pen at the other. Samsung has apparently confirmed a 10.1-inch tablet version of its Galaxy Note pen-enabled smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, with an S-Pen developer event to be held at MWC 2012 later this month. Mention of the device – presumably a version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with stylus input – is made on Samsung’s official blog, and while it’s possibly a mistype, other signs point to it being a legitimate product.

Samsung is considering adding S-Pen digital stylus functionality to future tablets, borrowing the pen-input option from the Galaxy Note for larger models as it boosts data-entry methods. Asked whether Samsung saw the Galaxy Tab line-up expanding beyond mere finger control, "I think a pen interface continues to make a lot of sense across a number of screen sizes, like the larger is more obvious of those" product marketing manager Ryan Biden told Laptop.
